"On reaching the Supreme Court, the group sang the National Anthem—a sign of hope in times of great division—and then paused to pray a Divine Mercy Chaplet led by longtime friend of the College Fr. Matthew Schultz. "
“Love God and do what you will.” Or, in the words of Fr. Matthew Schultz: “Have fun; just don’t sin.” With Christmas break now over and students relatively well-rested (or at least less burnt out than at the end of the Fall semester), the campus began to creak back into life last week after its long winter nap. But what is a reconvening of the Thomas More family without a raucous celebration? Blessed with a first week of only three days of classes, the student body was chomping at the bit for the weekend. And why? Well, because the clerical King Wenceslaus, Fr. Schultz himself, had graciously invited TMC to a contra dance! "
"A group of students from Thomas More College of Liberal Arts recently assisted at a forty-hour devotion held at St. Michael’s Parish in Exeter. The devotion, organized by associate pastor Father Matthew Schultz, was held for the sake of victims of heroin and human trafficking. Father Schultz, knowing the propensity of TMC students for sacred music, invited them to come and sing Vespers as part of the devotion; the students responded with alacrity."
In addition, Schultz served at St Gregory the Great in Elmhurst, PA for many years as a teacher and dorm father. In 2012 St Gregory the Great closed down due to a sex abuse crisis. Thomas More College provided refuge for staff and 11th and 12th grade students. The president, William Fahey, blamed the victim.
If Schultz served 4 years in seminary (? 2013-2017) he was likely serving at St. Gregory's when the sex abuse occurred in 2012. A TMC article states that "he found his vocation at TMC." Was he part of the staff that found refuge there in 2012? I am not able to verify the timeline of his employment at St Gregory's. (I have more sources on the St Gregory sex abuse issue)
The Diocese of Manchester NH is home to Sophia Press which publishes Crisis Magazine. On the Facebook page of the diocese they advertised an upcoming Literature conference with Thomas More College in Merrimack, NH. It appears as if the diocese is co-sponsoring the event with Sophia Press. It is being held at my former parish of 20 yrs, Ste. Marie's.
I have asked on the diocese FB page is the Bishop supports the positions of Crisis Magazine. It was ignored. Crisis has promoted an article against a women's right to vote, supports election denial, Christian Nationalism and all kinds of far right extremism. I also wrote the diocese and the archdiocese in Boston this past week.
I am attending a conference here in NH next week on Christian Nationalism. I intend on finding someone who can help elevated my concern.
On another note, last year the diocese had a younger priest, Matthew Schultz, who was removed from ministry for credible allegations of sex abuse of a minor. The priest had a well documented relationship serving in a pastoral role at Thomas More College but that was not revealed on the diocese announcement where they share where the priest has served. I wrote the diocese and asked them to be transparent with proof of his role listing all the events the priest was involved in at TMC. They did not update the announcement. I still have all these details. He literally said he found his vocation at TMC.
Does anyone have any ideas how I can proceed with increasing the awareness of this and holding the diocese accountable both with Crisis and the sex abuse case? It is already on the Bishop accountability page. The bishop keeps a very watchful eye here on what goes on underneath his leadership. He is fully aware of what Crisis publishes and by all appearances supports it.
Evil will prevail if truly righteous people and victims stay silent. Those who fake righteousness must be exposed for what they truly are: selling evil in the name of God. The coverups prove the hideous hypocrisy. Remember, Fr. Morrier was encouraged and emboldened by the people around him who promoted his 'godly' agenda for years. Morrier had a team of men, women, and college leadership who brutalized Morrier's victim during and after the 'exorcisms'. Is it the same team that continues to beg for money?
You and your work are a gift to the Church
As always, Jenn, WOW!
Here are my sources from that shows Matthew Schultz served at TMC and the diocese should have revealed this.
"This year, Fr. Matthew Schultz, who found his final vocation at Thomas More College several years ago, was our chaplain."
