I’m at the National Catholic Reporter today with a story out of Fall River, Massachusetts, where Father Jay Mello was put on leave pending an investigation of sexual misconduct. Although his story was not the case that led to Mello’s leave, Jonathan* spoke with me about his own allegations which were investigated by the diocese as well.

This piece is also about the response of a community when their beloved pastor is put on leave.
